About Us

WHO WE ARE

On July 17, 1916 President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Farm Loan Act and Farm Credit was born. Soon after Farm Credit was created, the very first Farm Credit loan was made to A.L. Stockwell in Larned, KS. High Plains Farm Credit is a proud member of the Larned community and the national Farm Credit System.

Since 1916, we have been fully devoted to agricultural financing. With over 50 employees, we serve over 1,700 farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses with nearly $1.5 billion of loan volume serviced. We are 100% committed to our territory – 100% of our elected directors and 100% of our people were born and raised in our territory. We understand the impact agriculture and Farm Credit have in our rural communities. All of our decisions are local, not made in some distant location, and our focus is on helping you achieve success right here in Kansas.

OUR VISION

To be the preferred source of agricultural financing.

HOW WE OPERATE

High Plains Farm Credit is a local agriculture lending cooperative owned and controlled by our customer-stockholders. Since our customers are our owners, they have a voice in how the organization is run. Our customers help shape who we are and define the path ahead by electing fellow stockholders as Board of Directors to guide us there.
