The Director of Budgets reports to the Vice President for Administration and Finance and serves as a key senior member of the financial leadership team. An important visionary leader on campus, the Director has primary responsibility to develop, implement and monitor the annual university budget. The Director also serves as an essential leader in providing information to leadership and campus on budgetary and fiscal matters. The Director is the main point of contact between the University and the state budget office and serves on multiple committees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and monitor the University annual budget.
2. Advise campus and university leadership in budgetary and fiscal matters.
3. Act as primary liaison to the State Department of the Budget, Legislative Research and other external constituencies regarding budgetary matters.
4. Participate in the development and implementation of fiscal policies, systems and procedures.
Oversee the creation of and review appointment notices and contracts for all university personnel.
5. Serve on the President’s Cabinet, Budget advisory committee and Tuition and Fees Advisory Committee and other committees as assigned.
6. Provide managerial oversight to the Budgeting, Printing Services and Motor Pool departments.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or a related field. Must also have three to five years of related professional experience.
