Substance Use Disorder Therapist

High Plains Mental Health Center has an opening for a Coordinator of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services.

Through the provision of direct services including evaluation, psychotherapy, and counseling, this position helps patients deal with their substance-related issues and/or co-occurring behavioral health issues.

Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

New employees will receive a $325 sign-on bonus following successful completion of their 90-day orientation period.

Qualifications include:

  • Masters or doctoral degree with Kansas BSRB license as a:
  • (1) Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Master Level Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist;
  • (2) Licensed Master Social Worker (clinical track) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker;
  • (3) Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with Mental Health Training track or equivalent mental health experience;
  • (4) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Must be a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) and/or complete required HPMHC SUD provider training per Center policy.
  • Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons with serious mental illness, those who experience significant functional impairment.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record (no alcohol-related incidents in the last five years).
  • Successfully pass an intensive background check (KBI, DCF Child/Adult abuse check, and Drug & Alcohol screen).

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides psychotherapy and counseling to patients for SUD issues and people with co-occurring needs.
  • Provides collaboration and other necessary case management work on assigned cases.
  • Coordinates program services with MAT team and other Center programs, as directed by the Director of Clinical Programs.
  • Assigns workload and caseload of SUD services program staff.
  • Provides clinical supervision of designated SUD Services Program staff.
  • Develops and runs SUD treatment Groups.
