Position Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of United Way of Ellis County. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative relationship-builder, a confident communicator, and a passionate advocate for our mission.
Key Objectives
- Partner with the Board of Directors and committees to advance strategic goals.
- Lead daily operations, ensuring program effectiveness, compliance, and quality.
- Foster a strong volunteer culture that supports mission-driven work.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and community liaison.
- Develop and manage fundraising strategies, budgets, and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with United Way Worldwide and State Association guidelines.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Board to set and achieve strategic objectives.
- Lead annual fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.
- Oversee all external communications, including website, social media, and marketing materials.
- Represent the organization at community events and in the media to build visibility and credibility.
- Cultivate partnerships with civic groups, local governments, media, and nonprofits.
- Strengthen relationships with current and prospective donors through clear, compelling communication.
- Build and support a high-performing team of board members and volunteers.
- Develop onboarding and training programs for board and volunteer development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Proven success in fundraising, marketing, and public relations.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit governance and board relations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic, forward-thinking approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
- Charismatic presence with a passion for community impact.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
