We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of impact and growth.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of United Way of Ellis County. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative relationship-builder, a confident communicator, and a passionate advocate for our mission.

Key Objectives

• Partner with the Board of Directors and committees to advance strategic goals.
• Lead daily operations, ensuring program effectiveness, compliance, and quality.
• Foster a strong volunteer culture that supports mission-driven work.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson and community liaison.
• Develop and manage fundraising strategies, budgets, and cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with United Way Worldwide and State Association guidelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Board to set and achieve strategic objectives.
• Lead annual fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.
• Oversee all external communications, including website, social media, and marketing materials.
• Represent the organization at community events and in the media to build visibility and credibility.
• Cultivate partnerships with civic groups, local governments, media, and nonprofits.
• Strengthen relationships with current and prospective donors through clear, compelling communication.
• Build and support a high-performing team of board members and volunteers.
• Develop onboarding and training programs for board and volunteer development.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Proven success in fundraising, marketing, and public relations.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit governance and board relations.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic, forward-thinking approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
• Charismatic presence with a passion for community impact.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
